26th International Festival of Advent and Christmas Traditions, Carols and Handicrafts
4th to 8th December 2024 – Czech Republic.
The Consonance (Souznění) festival takes place at several locations in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. The multi-genre festival will open with an introductory concert on Wednesday at Studio I of Czech Radio Ostrava.
On Thursday, there will be a traditional Advent concert in Frýdek-Místek, premiering in the Art Nouveau hall of the National House in Místek. Festival activities will continue on Friday in Kunčice pod Ondřejníkem. The Consonance festival includes a Saturday Christmas market in Kozlovice with a rich program, a caroling tour, artisan crafts, a wide selection, and tasting of regional specialties, followed by an evening concert at the Municipal Office hall in Kozlovice. The festival, a unique international showcase of this type in our country, will conclude on Sunday with a premiere concert at the Petrovice – Prstná Chateau in Petrovice u Karviné.
We anticipate that performers from home and abroad will enrich the festive program sequences in the squares of Ostrava, Frýdek-Místek… – all still under negotiation.
Some concerts will be recorded and broadcast live online on YouTube and on the airwaves of Czech Radio. After processing, the edited recording will be available for viewing and listening on the websites on the YouTube channels of the Festival Consonance and Concerts of Czech Radio for a broad audience.
